Wujiang Science and Technology Agricultural Demonstration Park

The Suzhou Tongli Science and Technology Agricultural Demonstration Park was established in July 2007, with a planned total area of 15,000 mu, including a core area of 3,000 mu in Phase I located in Beilian Village. In 2009, the Tongli Science and Technology Agricultural Demonstration Park became a provincial-level "Ten Thousand Mu of Prime Farmland" demonstration project.

In April 2007, Nanjing University was commissioned to carry out the overall planning. In combination with the actual land use situation, three major functional areas were planned: an 8,000-mu high-quality grain and oil production zone, a 3,000-mu special aquatic breeding zone, and a 3,000-mu high-efficiency cash crop cultivation zone. Through centralized land consolidation, with the goals of “operational scaling, facility modernization, production standardization, service specialization, beautiful environment, and high output efficiency,” the park has accelerated the investment of modern equipment, advanced technologies, and quality capital. It is striving to build an agricultural science and technology demonstration park that promotes the cultivation of pollution-free, high-value-added organic and green agricultural products.

The park plans to complete the consolidation and resettlement of 1,476 households in the region within about three years, while ensuring no reduction in cultivated land area, no increase in construction land, and no harm to farmers’ interests. On one hand, two residential communities will be developed to achieve the new rural development goals of “centralized housing, neat villages, beautiful environments, and complete facilities.”

Wujiang Economic Development Zone (Jiangling Subdistrict): The administrative area of Jiangling Subdistrict consists of seven village committees from Tongli Town — Yita, Shebang, Tongxing, Zhajiao, Yeming, Fangjian’gang, and Yeze — as well as five neighborhood committees and sixteen village committees previously under Songling Town: Jiangling, Panshanhu, Xingang, Xinliuxi, Hudong (neighborhood committees), and Qingshawan, Yaojiazhuang, Huagang, Liuxu, Wuxin, Songnan, Sanliqiao, Pangbei, Pannan, Pangdong, Pangshan, Pangyang, Bailongqiao, Lingyi, Longjin, and Xilian (village committees).
