Mumbai Science (Belgium)
This isn’t commercial EDM, nor is it outdated, unchanging traditional style. Mumbai Science blends their imagination and musical knowledge to create highly malleable dance music—basically, no matter your taste, you’re likely to love it.
Maarten Elen and Jonas Kiesekoms, both 28 years old, are known for their fast-paced electronic music. Moving between Jacking House and Techno, they originated from a punk duo. With fast electronic beats, powerful mechanical Techno, sharp and heavy Bass (plus a bit of Acid), these signature traits have made Mumbai Science a leader in Electro and Techno. After signing with Lektroluv Records in 2010, Maarten and Jonas unexpectedly skyrocketed to fame, with four of their tracks still playing in clubs worldwide. Woof, Ancova, and Gold EP continue to have a lasting impact. Their 2011 release, Lotus, was a huge success.
Sulumi (Sun Dawei)
Sulumi (Sun Dawei), a proud figure in the electronic music scene, has been honored to return to China from Japan for the 2015 MIDI Electronic Music Festival. He is bringing his new album Unconsciousness/无意识 and will be performing LIVE—creating music on the spot, not just mixing.
Every time Sulumi performs, the dance floor goes wild. His shows are full of passion, and his complete dedication to music shines brightly on stage. Don’t miss this exciting moment at this year’s MIDI Electronic Music Festival.
Kamara (Netherlands)
Kamara has deep artistic accomplishment, and many cities in China have booked them. They’ve toured all over China—including Kunming, Chengdu, Nantong, Shanghai, and Beijing—and have been deeply captivated by Chinese culture.
After returning home, they locked themselves in the studio for three months and produced the outstanding album Sand Man. Their new album is entirely inspired by their trip to China, creating highly successful electronic music for Shanghai and the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, which was also published by the internationally renowned label Christian Smith.
Duck Fight Goose (鸭打鹅)
Duck Fight Goose is composed of Han Han, San San, Panda, and JB. The band’s early sound was heavily influenced by modern math rock, electronic music, and 1970s psychedelic music. But as the band evolved, they have successfully created a unique electronic modern sound, which they call “Future Rock.”
In 2009, Duck Fight Goose released their first EP FLOW under Maybe Mars Records, filled with layered distorted vocals. A year later, they signed with Maybe Mars Records and subsequently released their first full-length album SPORTS, depicting a dark vision of the city, sports, and the future. At the end of 2012, the original drummer Men Da and manager Brad moved to the United States. In 2013, the Frenchman Jean Baptiste joined the band as the new drummer. In 2015, Duck Fight Goose plans to release their second full-length album, tentatively titled CLVB ZVKVNFT 未来俱乐部 (Future Club).
Smash TV (Berlin)
The 2015 MIDI Electronic Music Festival proudly welcomes Smash TV, the renowned Tech-House producer from Berlin, who comes from the city’s most famous record label, Get Physical, and is a frequent guest at music festivals worldwide.
Get Physical was founded by M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade, icons in the House/TechHouse scene. You can imagine that Smash TV’s talent impressed them, and their music style is definitely melodic, rhythmic, and uplifting—an exhilarating Berlin electronic music experience.
