China’s top music festival brand, the Midi Festival, kicks off at Taihu Midi Camp from May 1 to 3. Located on the shores of Taihu Lake in Qidu Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou, Taihu Midi Camp boasts beautiful scenery and expansive grounds. The Taihu Folk & World Music Festival was successfully held here last October. Covering an area of 800 acres, Taihu Midi Camp is China’s first large-scale outdoor youth activity camp open year-round as a “National Music Industry Demonstration Park.” It exudes the romantic, free, equal, and caring utopian vibe of Midi amidst lakes, rivers, woods, and green lawns, becoming a joyful stopover and spiritual haven for all who are on the road.
The 2015 Taihu Midi Festival will feature four stages onsite: Tang (Main Stage), Warring States (Heavy Stage), Ming (Folk Stage), and Kids Midi (Children’s Stage), with performances by over a hundred domestic and international bands and musicians.
Later, from May 15 to 17, Taihu Midi Camp will also welcome the 2015 Midi Electronic Music Festival, a true non-stop 48-hour music event. This festival will set up eight stages both outdoors and inside the camp’s castle, featuring performances by 80 electronic music artists. The confirmed international top-tier lineup includes Belgium’s electronic band The Subs, the renowned trio Brandt Brauer Frick (Live), the Dutch group Kamara (Live), Belgium’s Mumbai Science, Germany’s Smash TV, France’s Joris Delacroix, and Japan’s returning act Sulumi (Live).
