Wenshitang Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Suzhou City.

Wenshitang Hall, located on the northwest bank of the town, was built during the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. It is a three-bay hall where the brothers Yin Shoupeng and Yin Shouzhen resided. Yin Shoupeng, who ranked first among the second-class successful candidates in the 22nd year of Daoguang (1842), is said to have been a tutor to Emperor Tongzhi. Yin Shouzhen passed the imperial examination in the 24th year of Daoguang and was appointed as a compiler. The Yin family of Lili named the hall “Wenshitang” (Hall of Poetry Hearing) to commemorate their brothers’ dedication to studying the classics, which eventually led to their success in the imperial examinations.

The architectural footprint of Wenshitang Hall measures 10.4 meters in width (both south facade and north wall) and 10.3 meters in length (both east and west walls), covering a protected area of 107 square meters; the Wenshitang Alley has a total protected area of 824.28 square meters.

Fenhu High-Tech Zone (Lili Town): Lili Town is located 30 kilometers southeast of Wujiang County and is a well-preserved, typical ancient water town in the Jiangnan region. The town follows a layout of one river flanked by two streets, with most of the preserved buildings along the banks being two-story structures from the Ming and Qing dynasties, featuring contiguous storefronts. Another distinctive feature of the ancient town is its long revetments, all built with Jieji stone. Even after hundreds of years, they remain neat and solid. Embedded along the revetments are more than 300 stone railings, among which the exquisitely crafted elephant trunk railings resemble seals crafted by master seal engravers—small in size yet full of charm.
