The Former Residence of the Wang Family

Located in the middle section of Lantoushou and facing south, the house was built in the late Qing Dynasty and was originally part of the Pang family's pawnshop property. In 1947, the 36th year of the Republic of China, it was bought by Wang Naiyuan. By 2003, the Wang residence within the pawnshop compound still had four upper and four lower main rooms plus an east wing on both levels. It was built in a post-and-lintel style using brick and wood, with intact three-beam and five-beam frames and low columns, but no carvings or bracket sets. Access was through a small stone gate under the wing. The courtyard originally had a gate tower, but although the large stone gate beneath it remains, the tower itself is gone and no longer passable. Currently, the property includes 4 upper and 4 lower rooms plus a wing, totaling 12 rooms covering an area of 230 square meters. In 2008, it was listed as a newly discovered cultural relic during the third national cultural relics survey and was placed under protection.
