Shengping Bridge spans the Li and Hongzi weirs. Its original construction date is unknown, but it was rebuilt in the 13th year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty (1448). In the 44th year of the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty (1705), local resident Xiang Xiangfu and others raised funds for its reconstruction. In the late 20th century, it was rebuilt twice as a reinforced concrete bridge—single-arched with stone cladding. The bridge has a span of 6 meters, a rise of 2.5 meters, and a width of 4.8 meters (with the central sloped section being 1.2 meters wide, and both sides featuring steps, each 1.8 meters wide, facilitating vehicle passage in the middle and pedestrian use on the sides). On the east and west sides of the bridge, there are six square stone pillars each, along with stone railings for protection. The bridge features two pairs of couplets: on the east side, “Breezes are light, clouds are pale, the bright moon rises; waves are calm, the water still, reflecting the jade plate,” and on the west side, “To the south, reach the teahouse and hear the flute’s charm; to the north, go to the literary hall to enjoy storytelling and ballad singing.”
