Tongli Jili Bridge

Jili Bridge is located in the urban area of Tongli Town, Wujiang City, spanning the Qizi and ?? polders. It lies southeast of Taiping Bridge and southwest of Changqing Bridge.

Originally built during the Northern Song Dynasty, it was renovated in the 11th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1746) by local resident Fan Jinglie. In the 48th year of Qianlong (1783), locals funded its reconstruction again. In the early 1970s, the bridge was demolished due to river reclamation. In 1988, the Tongli Town government reconstructed it.

A single-arch stone bridge oriented east-west. It is 18 meters long, 2.22 meters wide, with an arch height of 3.5 meters and a span of 4.5 meters. Each side of the bridge is adorned with a couplet. The southern couplet reads: “Shallow waters shimmer with cloud shadows; a small bridge frames flowing streams.” The northern couplet reads: “Jili Bridge arches like a crescent moon; Taiping beams stand mirrored as twin rainbows.”
