Dashan Bridge

Dashan Bridge is located on Yangqiaogang in Zhailiqiao Village, Taoyuan Town, Wujiang District, spanning Yanghe Bridge Port.

Its original construction date is unknown, but it was rebuilt in the 21st year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1895). On July 29, 1994, it was listed as a cultural relic control unit of Wujiang District.

This five-arch granite beam bridge runs east-west. It has a total length of 32.2 meters, a width of 2.2 meters, a span of 24.9 meters, a central arch height of 3.5 meters, and a central arch span of 5.8 meters. The central arch's piers are inscribed with phrases such as “Rebuilt by local residents in the 21st year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty,” “Funds raised communally by locals through public support,” and “Wang Wanguo donated one pier.” Each side of the bridge features a couplet. The southern couplet reads: “Willow-lined shores connect to the ford, reaching far to the Twin Streams to welcome the crane boats; Peach Blossom waters flow into the port, dividing the two provinces with fishing gear.” The northern couplet reads: “Wushu connects to dense markets, where sunset and clear streams carry distant fishermen’s songs; Xun Town links to embroidered lands, where morning breezes fill the sails of many travelers.”
