Taoyuan Qinglong Bridge

Commonly known as Beiyanghe Bridge, it is located at Beiyangheqiao (place name), Zhailihao Village, Taoyuan Town, Wujiang District. It is a three-span beam-type stone bridge with columns made of Wukang stone and a diamond wall constructed from bluestone mixed with granite. The bridge spans north to south over the Beiyang River. It is 22.2 meters long, 2.05 meters wide at the middle, with a central span of 5.22 meters, and a height of 2.9 meters. The original construction date is unknown; it was rebuilt in the seventh year of the Republic of China (1918). The bridge features couplets: the south-facing one reads “Greener than orchids, the mountain shrouded in mist; the dragon transformed from fish, fragrant in the water,” while the north-facing one reads “Fingers point to the blue-hanging lakeside land far away; boats sail as dragons guard the long ____.”
