Yude Hall

Yude Hall

Yude Hall is a cultural heritage site protected by the Suzhou Municipal Government.

Yude Hall is located in Chengziwei, Tongli Town, Wujiang District, and dates back to 1927.

The residence was built in the fifth month of the lunar calendar in the 16th year of the Republic of China (1927) by Zhou Songting. During the war, it was occupied by the military, served as the district government headquarters in the early years after liberation, and was later used by the Tongli Supply and Marketing Cooperative. After the 1980s, most of it was converted into residential use. The original structure consisted of an east and west section, totaling 110 rooms. Today, only the west section remains, comprising four courtyards and 89 rooms covering an area of 1,855 square meters.
