Fufu Bridge

Fufu Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected by Suzhou City.

Fufu Bridge, formerly known as Dabei, is located in Donggang and spans the Dashi and Dabao polders. It was built in the fourth year of the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty (1624), with a record written by Shen Chu. In the thirty-second year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1767), Luo Gong from the Sub-district Defense Office rebuilt the bridge and heightened it to allow passage of large vessels.

The town covers an area of 118 square kilometers, including a built-up urban area of 22 square kilometers. It has a permanent population of 180,000, including 107,000 registered residents and approximately 70,000 migrant workers and businesspeople. Shengze Town is an economic hub of Wujiang City, particularly prominent in industrial output.
