Yunxiu Valley Hunting and Sightseeing Scenic Area is located in Yaoqiaoyu, Xinchengzi, 132 kilometers from Beijing. With superior natural surroundings, vast mountainous terrain, and over 95% vegetation coverage, the hunting area serves as a multifunctional tourism destination. It is divided into sections such as the Miyun International Hunting Ground, a modern skeet shooting range, a Mongolian cultural village, and the Yunxiu Valley Scenic Area. To the east lies the national first-class forest park — Wuling Mountain, and to the west is the Simatai section of the Great Wall.

The Miyun International Hunting Ground features both enclosed and open hunting areas spanning nearly 120 square kilometers, home to over 20 species of wild animals including deer, roe deer, blue sheep, foxes, pheasants, and rabbits, providing ample opportunities for hunting enthusiasts from around the world. The Yunxiu Valley Scenic Area boasts crystal-clear waters, red-hued rocks, picturesque landscapes, and uniquely colorful floral displays. With flowers blooming all three seasons, the valley bursts with vibrant hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, emitting a fragrant aroma across the landscape that delights the senses.

The skeet shooting amusement park is designed with an ancient Ming Dynasty aesthetic, enclosed with fluttering flags. It houses four electronically controlled clay pigeon launchers, ensuring high safety standards where visitors can test their shooting skills. The Wuling Fairy Lake water recreation area offers activities such as fishing, swimming, boating, and speedboat rides.

Since its opening in 1991, Yunxiu Valley has continuously improved its facilities, with the restaurant and guestroom reception capacity increasing year by year. State and Party leaders such as Wei Jianxing, Wan Li, Rong Yiren, Cao Zhi, and others have visited the scenic area and spoke highly of it. Secretary [name omitted] personally inscribed the words: “The lake and mountain scenery are all before your eyes.”

With the highest elevation at 1,700 meters and vegetation coverage exceeding 95%, Yunxiu Valley enjoys an average annual temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, making it an ideal summer retreat. The scenic area includes a 6,000-acre enclosed hunting ground and a modern skeet shooting range, offering visitors the novelty and thrill of hunting with firearms. A 400-meter-high zip line lets you experience the sensation of flying. The valley stretches 17 li deep, featuring peculiar peaks, strange rocks, deep pools, and waterfalls. Notably, the unique geological phenomenon of red-hued rocks in clear waters and the ancient Quaternary glacial boulder fields are rare even nationwide, holding significant scientific research value.

The optimal period for enjoying the natural scenery is from April to October.

Transportation Information

Yunxiu Valley Scenic Area is easily accessible. Buses depart from Dongzhimen Long-Distance Bus Station to Miyun every 20 minutes starting at 6:00 AM daily. Upon arrival at Miyun Bus Station, there are frequent minibuses and buses heading to the Yunxiu Valley Scenic Area.
