In the night of the 19th, six middle school students got lost while hiking on a wild mountain near Wohu Mountain in Miyun. Upon receiving the report, Miyun police quickly dispatched forces to search and found all six students within just one hour, safely escorting them down the mountain.
At around 8:44 p.m. on June 19, Miyun police received a report that six tourists were lost while hiking. The name of the mountain was unknown, but it was known that there was an Anti-Japanese War Memorial Monument at the foot of the mountain. Based on the approximate location described by the caller, the on-duty officers deployed the Gubeikou Police Station to carry out the search and rescue.
Based on the clue about the "Anti-Japanese War Memorial Monument," the officers determined that the tourists were likely on Wohu Mountain, which has the Wohu Mountain section of the Great Wall and is often frequented by hiking enthusiasts. After contacting the caller by phone and confirming the surrounding geographical details, the duty station chief led two young officers with good physical strength, equipped with gear, to rush to Wohu Mountain. The officers also contacted several villagers familiar with the mountain paths near the foot of the mountain to assist in the search.
When the search team arrived, it was completely dark. The officers advised the distressed individuals via phone to find a safe place to rest and wait for rescue. The search team then entered the mountain and, after about an hour of searching, the lost tourists were found.
It turned out that these six individuals were students from a middle school in Tianjin who had just taken the college entrance examination. They went out together to relax. After looking up some wild hiking guides online, they arrived at the Wohu Mountain section of the Great Wall at noon on the 19th. After spending the afternoon hiking, they were so captivated by the beautiful scenery that they lost track of time and didn’t realize it was getting late. As they hurried to descend, the more anxious they became, the more lost they got. With darkness falling and heavy rain approaching, they quickly dialed 110 for help.
After confirming that the six were not injured and were in good health, the officers, along with the villagers, escorted the six students safely down the mountain and delivered them to their resort.
