Ancient Guazhou Ferry is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Guide: Guazhou is a small island at the confluence of the Grand Canal and the Yangtze River, from which you can take a ferry to Zhenjiang. The Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi wrote in his poem "Everlasting Longing": "The Bian River flows, the Si River flows, flowing to the head of the ancient Guazhou Ferry," and the Song Dynasty poet Wang Anshi wrote in his poem "Moored at Guazhou": "Between Jingkou and Guazhou lies but a strip of water, with only a few ranges of hills between us and Zhongshan Mountain" — both referring to this place. This was the starting point for the Tang Dynasty eminent monk Jianzhen’s voyage to Japan, and is said to be the location where Du Shiniang angrily sank her treasure chest. Countless poets and scholars throughout history have left verses and writings here. Historic sites such as the ancient ferry ruins, Imperial Stele Pavilion, and the Sinking Chest Pavilion evoke deep reflection. The scenic area has also added new attractions such as the Silver Ridge Pagoda, Jinchun Garden, Reflection Pool, and the Garden within a Garden, all connected to the landscape of the ancient canal scenic belt. Transportation: Located in Guazhou Town, Yangzhou, 15 kilometers from downtown Yangzhou. Take bus route 16 from Slender West Lake to Runyang Forest Park and get off at the “Guazhou Ancient Ferry” stop.

Guazhou Town: Guazhou is located at the southernmost tip of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, at the mouth of the ancient canal where it meets the Yangtze River. Its longitude is 119°4′ east and latitude is 32°2′ north. Situated in the mid-latitude zone, it enjoys a mild climate and moderate rainfall.

Ancient Guazhou was formed by the accumulation of sandbars in the river. Today’s Guazhou Town evolved from the former Sili Pu on the north bank of the river. In May 2001, during an administrative adjustment of townships in Hanjiang District, Yangzhou, Guazhou Town and Yunxi Township were abolished, and a new Guazhou Town was established.
