Xu Garden is an ancient Han-style garden architecture originally built during the Qing Dynasty. It is located within Slender West Lake Park in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The "garden within a garden" concept is a distinctive feature of Slender West Lake. Xu Garden was constructed on the former site of "Peach Blossom Dock," situated at the northern end of the Long Dyke Spring Willow area in Slender West Lake, originally the site of the Peach Blossom Dock from the early Qing-era Han Garden. The garden features a lotus pond built with yellow stones, with winding streams outside and a pond inside that connects to the lake. Passing the pond leads to a pavilion named Tingli Pavilion, inspired by Du Fu’s poem line "Two golden orioles sing amid the willows green; A flock of white egrets fly into the blue sky." The entire courtyard is neat yet dynamic. Walking around Xu Garden and standing on the Little Red Bridge, you’ll see Little Jinshan Hill rising with the lake surface suddenly opening up. Although Xu Garden is not large, covering only 0.6 hectares, it has a well-proportioned layout with courtyards that flow coherently and are arranged with charming variation.

These integrate exquisite architectural structures and masterful carving artistry, fully showcasing the wisdom and talent of the ancient Han people. In front of Tingli Pavilion, two iron cauldrons are displayed, said to have been used for water control during the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasties. There is also a stone tablet inscribed with the “Record of the Iron Cauldrons,” believed to be a relic from the Liang Dynasty, dating back over 1,400 years.
