The Tomb of Lianxi is a Yangzhou municipal cultural heritage site.

Now a municipal-level cultural heritage site, located within Daming Temple in the city center. Lianxi, also known as Monk Zhenran, was a late Qing Dynasty painter from Xinghua who resided in Yangzhou. Having once lived on Huangshan Mountain, he styled himself “Huangshan Woodcutter” and excelled in landscape figures, as well as floral, bird, orchid, and bamboo paintings. He passed away in the tenth year of the Guangxu reign (1884) and was buried here. The tomb lies in the woods outside the wall of Daming Temple, with the earthen mound collapsed. In front of the grave is a bluestone tombstone inscribed in clerical script with the words “Tomb of the Late Lian, Qing Dynasty,” and the inscription at the bottom reads “Buried in the Jiashen Year of Guangxu.”
