Longyi Nunnery is a Yangzhou municipal cultural heritage site.

Longyi Nunnery

Now a municipal-level cultural heritage site, it is located in Xinhe Wan outside the southern gate of the city. Originally a herb nunnery, it is said to have been named after Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty once hung his clothes here to dry during a rain. It was renovated in the 32nd year of the Qianlong reign (1767) and collapsed during the Xianfeng era before being rebuilt. The existing structures consist of two courtyards facing south, covering an area of about 400 square meters. The rear hall features flush-gable walls, with five bays in width and seven rafters in depth. On both sides of the front of the hall are corridor rooms. To the north stand two ancient ginkgo trees. It is a cultural heritage site along the southern section of the ancient Grand Canal.
