Yangzhou Martyrs' Cemetery is now a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit, located on Wansongling in Shugang, downtown Yangzhou. It was first built in 1954 and expanded northward in 1997. The cemetery currently covers an area of over 40,000 square meters. At the foot of the hill stands a stone memorial archway, and ascending the steps, a Revolutionary Martyrs Monument is located in the center of the hill. The cemetery includes a martyrs’ stele forest, martyrs’ tombs, a martyrs’ memorial hall, and other commemorative structures. The martyrs’ memorial hall has a construction area of over 1,200 square meters and displays photographs, personal belongings, and historical materials of revolutionary martyrs since the First Revolutionary Civil War. It serves as the central exhibition hall for the revolutionary struggle history of martyrs from all seven counties (cities, districts) in the city.
