Jin Yun Qin Zheng Cultural Exhibition Hall

Jin Yun Qin Zheng Cultural Exhibition Hall is located at No. 8 Hongyang Road, Yangzhou Economic Development Zone. Covering a total area of approximately 2,000 square meters with a total investment of nearly 10 million yuan. The exhibition layout is divided into four parts: the display of qin and zheng craftsmanship and production processes, the appreciation of qin and zheng culture and art, the exhibition of premium qin and zheng pieces, and the research and exchange of qin and zheng art. The Jin Yun Qin Zheng Cultural Exhibition Hall fills a gap in China’s museum landscape by showcasing the craftsmanship behind qin and zheng instrument making. It was established and is operated by the private enterprise Jin Yun Musical Instruments Company, and opened to the public in May 2016.

1. Qin and Zheng Craftsmanship and Art Exhibition Hall: The exhibition consists of two main aspects. The first highlights how Jin Yun guzheng continues the traditional hand-carving techniques of ku-zheng, forming its unique production processes including wood base crafting, painting, decoration, and assembly. The second focuses on how Wu Xian Tang guqin has inherited and further developed the guqin-making skills of the Guangling school and other schools, establishing its own craftsmanship for wood base crafting, lacquering, and decoration. The exhibition uses a deconstructed format, supplemented with illustrations and production scenes, presenting the making processes of guqin and guzheng in a vivid and informative way through both visuals and dynamic displays.

2. Qin and Zheng Culture Appreciation: Utilizing modern high-tech methods such as sound, light, and electricity, it provides a comprehensive presentation of the culture and history of guqin and guzheng.

3. Qin and Zheng Premium Exhibition Hall: This section systematically showcases the company profile, honors and qualifications, development history, and highlights premium qin and zheng items. It displays representative guzheng masterpieces and special products, as well as accessories from the past twenty years of the factory’s operation.

4. Qin and Zheng Art Research and Exchange Achievements Hall houses a total of 256 exhibits, including a guqin once used by Mr. Hong Shan zhi, a Yangzhou calligrapher and painter from the late Qing Dynasty, as well as a collection of traditional manual tools for woodworking, lacquering, and more gathered over the years. It also features a wealth of books, manuscripts, audiovisual materials, and images, offering rich content in diverse forms. Here, visitors can also admire a collection of rare guqin and guzheng treasures cherished by Jin Yun Musical Instruments for decades.

The Wu Xian Tang Guqin Room is a space for guqin performances, exchanges, and interactive activities.
