Located by the Plum Blossom Ridge outside Guangchu Gate in Yangzhou, west of the historical Shigong Ancestral Hall, there stands a newly built two-story antique-style structure – the Yangzhou Integrity Culture Exhibition Hall. With a total floor area of 670 square meters, the first floor serves as the main exhibition hall, while the second floor functions as a temporary exhibition space. It is the first municipal-level integrity culture exhibition hall in the province, and has been rated by the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection as an integrity education base and one of the first batch of integrity culture tourism sites in the province.

With the deepening of the anti-corruption campaign, the Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection have increasingly recognized that integrity culture, with its intangible and silent subtle influence, helps foster and guide people to follow shared social values and moral standards. To create a platform for promoting such values and positive energy, at the end of 2011, the Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee decided to build an Integrity Culture Exhibition Hall. The site was chosen to be west of the Shigong Ancestral Hall and included as a key project in the 2012 Cultural Expo City construction. At the meeting, Wang Yanwen, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, explained the choice of location, saying: “The spirit of Shi Kefa is the pride of the nation, shining brightly in the annals of Chinese righteousness. Building the Integrity Culture Exhibition Hall here better achieves the goal of learning from history, connecting the past with the future.”

The exhibition hall features a rational layout, rich content, and innovative presentation methods. The main exhibition hall is divided into four sections: “Tracing the Origins of Integrity,” “Diligence and Integrity in Character,” “Breezes of Integrity in Yangzhou,” and “The Enduring Charm of Integrity.” The exhibition showcases vivid stories of 22 representative historical figures from Yangzhou and 7 contemporary models of diligence and integrity, as well as the deeds of 20 exemplary individuals known for loyalty, filial piety, and integrity who have emerged under the guidance of socialist core values. Through nearly a thousand striking images, it systematically introduces the essence of integrity culture, the development of integrity culture in Yangzhou, the upright officials of Yangzhou’s history, and the current state of integrity culture construction. The exhibition hall combines traditional display panels, physical exhibits, and modern technologies such as sound, light, and electricity to offer visitors a visual feast of integrity culture. Technological features such as holographic imaging, strolling by the lotus pond, themed animated games, simulated self-driving tours, electronic book shelves, palm projections, video playback, electronic message boards, and an integrity photography wall enhance interactivity and appeal, adding a contemporary touch. This achieves a modern exhibition model that delivers unlimited content within limited space.

The Yangzhou Integrity Culture Exhibition Hall commenced construction in February 2012 and officially opened to the public in February 2013. It is staffed with two full-time guides, and different versions of tour scripts have been prepared for various types of visitors to make integrity education more targeted. To better fulfill the hall’s role and keep up with the times, it has undergone two revisions. Emphasis has been placed on integrating permanent exhibitions with various activities. Since its opening, the second-floor temporary exhibition space has frequently hosted lectures on integrity education, as well as calligraphy and photography exhibitions. Notable events include the First National Exhibition of Integrity Culture Paintings and the “Breezes of Integrity in Yangzhou” Special Calligraphy Exhibition. Since its opening, the Integrity Culture Exhibition Hall has been well received and highly praised by Party members, cadres, and visitors alike.
