Runyang Forest Park

Runyang Forest Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Located at No. 1 Runyang South Road, Hanjiang District, it is an ecological park integrating tourism, leisure, and vacation. Construction began on January 26, 2005, and the first phase has now been completed. It mainly includes “one lake, one dike, one street, one museum, one road, and three squares”—namely an artificial lake, a kilometer-long floral dike, a commercial street, a memorial hall, a landscape arterial road, a civic square, a landscape square, and a parking lot. On April 18, 2005, China Central Television and the Yangzhou Municipal Government held a large-scale cultural performance in the park's riverside square.

Runyang Forest Park is situated in the riverside area of the ancient town of Guazhou. The park covers a planned area of approximately 2.2 million square meters, with about 1.5 million square meters of green space, around 470,000 square meters of water area, and a greening rate of 70%. The park features widespread tidal flats, waving reeds, and habitats for numerous bird species, boasting a well-preserved ecological wetland environment. It is an excellent destination for tourism, vacationing, and outdoor camping. Guided by the overall strategy of “cross-river integration and leading development,” a number of key projects were carefully developed during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, including Fangdian, Sun Island Golf, Zhongwei Guazhou International Camping Site, “Wave Valley” Water Park, and Golden Sunshine All-Life Plaza. Three editions of the China Guazhou Music Festival, two editions of the Chrysanthemum Art Festival, and three editions of the River Fresh Food Festival have been held consecutively. It has successively been awarded tourism brands such as “Provincial-level Tourist Resort” and “Provincial-level Ecotourism Area,” significantly enhancing the influence and reputation of Guazhou tourism. Leveraging the historical legacy and unique resources of the “ancient ferry and ancient town” and the “rivers and city hub,” Runyang Forest Park primarily targets successful business professionals and young people, focusing on leisure and vacation projects. With a dynamic balance and emphasis on active experiences, it vigorously develops participatory and experiential tourism on “water, land, and air,” transforming from a “ferry dock” into a “vacation destination” and establishing itself as a top-tier tourist resort in China.
