Tang City Film and Television Base is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Guide Situated at the foot of Dafu Mountain in Wuxi, it belongs to the CCTV Film and Television Base along with the Three Kingdoms & Water Margin Film and Television City, and is centrally located within the Taihu Lake Scenic Tourism Area. To date, Tang City has established five major scenic zones — "Tang Palace," "Tang Street," "Imperial Garden," "Chenxiang Pavilion," and "Huaqing Pool" — featuring nearly a hundred spots on a site of fifteen hectares. Highlights Since its establishment, Tang City has cooperated in the production of nearly a hundred film and television works, such as "Friends of the Flower Kingdom," "Three Variations on a Plum Blossom," "Righteous Bao Gong," "Meng Lijun," "Proud Daughter of Heaven," "Love & Sword: Rivers and Mountains," "Iron-Blooded Heroes," and "Old Man Kou." In addition, variety shows such as CCTV's "Lantern Festival Gala" and "Zhengda Variety Show," Zhejiang TV's "Happy Times," Shanghai TV's "Brainstorm" and Oriental TV's "Happy—" have also been filmed and produced here.

Introduction Tang Street A recreation of the prosperous and peaceful atmosphere of the Tang Dynasty, "Tang Street" is 110 meters long and 34 meters wide. It consists of a set of stone memorial archways, a watchtower, a group of gateways, and attractions such as the "Money House," "Liu Lian Hui Xiang Tower," "Free and Easy Pavilion," and "Tai Bai Wine House." Chenxiang Pavilion Together with the "Performance Stage" and "Huaqing Pool," these three structures form a large-scale royal garden scenic area specifically built for the TV series "The Emperor Tang Minghuang" and the movie "Yang Guifei," covering an area of 10,000 square meters. Chenxiang Pavilion, also known as the "Cool Pavilion," was where Emperor Tang Minghuang and Yang Guifei sought relief from the summer heat in the Xingqing Palace of Chang’an during the Tang Dynasty. Beside the pavilion stands a massive waterwheel with an 18-meter diameter and weighing 10 tons — China’s oldest “air conditioner.” The original no longer exists, but artisans recreated this one-of-a-kind historical landmark in China based on historical records. Tang Palace The front of this scenic area features a grand hall modeled after the Hanyuan Hall of the Daming Palace in Chang’an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty. It served as the emperor’s throne hall and venue for major ceremonies. The interior furnishings were meticulously replicated by the art designers of the TV series "The Emperor Tang Minghuang." The ground floor of the hall houses a fully equipped studio capable of hosting large-scale variety shows. Opposite the hall is a replica of a Tang-style gate tower, which contains simulated studios for programs such as "News Broadcast." The surrounding ancient city walls house numerous costume storage rooms, prop rooms, and makeup studios. Imperial Garden This royal garden, known as the "Imperial Garden," includes over ten attractions such as the "Yinghui Pavilion," "Guanyue Pavilion," "Jingming Pavilion," "Qiyin Study," and "Taoist Hall," with plaques inscribed by renowned calligraphers from across China. The garden is planted with thousands of peony blossoms, creating a stunning colorful spectacle when in bloom. The garden also features the longest domestic purple clay mural, "Prosperity and Decline of the Great Tang," which is 51 meters long and 1.5 meters high, vividly depicting the rise and fall of the Tang Dynasty.

Tang City has also introduced a dynamic cinema system imported from McFadden Systems Inc. in the United States, offering participatory entertainment experiences such as "Simulated Filming" and "Motion Ride Movies." Dining / Accommodation / Shopping Dining: "Tang Street Restaurant" in the Tang City scenic area, as well as "Sun Shangxiang Restaurant," "Yuxianglou Restaurant," and "Happy Forest Restaurant" in the Three Kingdoms & Water Margin scenic area, all offer fast food (starting from ¥10) and à la carte dishes. The Three Kingdoms & Water Margin scenic area has newly launched a "Lakeside Buffet" experience — enjoy the sunset over Taihu Lake aboard a Water Margin official boat while sampling local freshwater delicacies. Priced at ¥100 per person (includes entrance ticket and boat fare), available from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (weather permitting). Accommodation: Both scenic areas have hotels available for overnight stays, with room rates at ¥138 per room. Transportation: Take bus route 820 from the bus terminal at the train station square directly to each scenic area. Alternatively, take private shuttle buses — large buses charge ¥3 per person to Tang City and ¥4 per person to the Three Kingdoms & Water Margin scenic area. Minibuses charge ¥4 per person to Tang City and ¥5 per person to the Three Kingdoms & Water Margin scenic area. Taking a Xiali taxi from the train station to Tang City costs about ¥40, and to the Three Kingdoms & Water Margin scenic area about ¥50.
