"Dianyi Terrace Inscription" Four-Sided Stele

The "Dianyi Terrace Inscription" Four-Sided Stele is located in Baishi Pavilion, north of Songfeng Hall, within Xihui Park in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province.

The "Dianyi Terrace Inscription" was composed by Shao Bao, Minister of Rites in Nanjing during the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty. A native of Wuxi, Shao Bao incurred the wrath of the eunuch faction led by Liu Jin while serving as Right Vice Censor-in-Chief and Grand Coordinator of Grain Transport. He resigned from office and returned to his hometown. In the eleventh year of the Zhengde era (1516), he piled up stones at Taohuawu at the eastern foot of Huishan Mountain and named the site "Dianyi Terrace," the place where he studied the Book of Changes. On the first day of the tenth month in the Gengchen year (1520), he personally inscribed the "Dianyi Terrace Inscription" and had it engraved on a four-sided stele. This stele is well-preserved and holds significant cultural and historical value.
