Wuxi Lianghu Ecological Park

Lianghu Ecological Park is situated on the northeastern side of Daxuan Kou, where the southwestern end of Liangxi River flows into Li Lake (between Lianghu Bridge and Jingyi Bridge). It is another waterfront park in the comprehensive water environment improvement project of Liangxi River. According to the Yuan Dynasty’s Records of Wuxi by Wang Renfu, this area was originally a natural ecological zone known for its scenic beauty in summer and autumn. For this reason, the design of Lianghu Ecological Park makes full use of the existing water resources, carries out natural ecological restoration in line with local conditions, and highlights the pure and elegant natural charm of the Jiangnan water town through ecological landscaping.

Liangxi River, also known as Liangqing Creek, is the oldest natural river in Wuxi and is hailed as the mother river of the locals. It serves as a natural waterway connecting the urban water system, the Grand Canal, Li Lake, and Taihu Lake. With its clear waters and broad ripples, serene and tranquil, Liangxi River is both ancient and evolving.

In July 2004, under the scientific planning of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and Government, the comprehensive water environment improvement project of Liangxi River was launched. After more than four years of effort, a series of new scenic spots along the riverbanks have been completed, including Liangxi Moonrise, Immortal Li Reminiscence, Frost Leaves Ancient Ferry, Clear Creek Washing Cap Strings, Hongqiao Legacy, and Sunset Reflections in the Pool. What was once a section of the river plagued by disordered buildings and noisy disturbances has now been transformed into a leisure destination featuring clear waters, green banks, and the quaint charm of small bridges, flowing streams, and riverside homes.
