Ling Shan Five Wisdom Gates
The Ling Shan Five Wisdom Gates feature a grand and exquisite design, forming a large stone memorial archway rich in profound Buddhist cultural significance.
From south to north, the stone archway is inscribed with six groups of Chinese characters: “Dana (Giving), Sila (Morality), Kshanti (Patience), Virya (Effort), Dhyana (Meditation), and Prajna (Wisdom).”
The gate pillars are carved from single pieces of granite, each adorned with a majestic stone lion.
The two sides of the pillars also feature couplets by renowned calligraphers and scholars, carrying deep meaning and well worth contemplating.
