Tomb of Qin Jin

The Tomb of Qin Jin is a protected cultural heritage site of Jiangsu Province.

The Tomb of Qin Jin is located in Qinchengshuwan, Hudai Town, Binhu District, Wuxi.

Qin Jin was buried at Xuedun on Guishan Mountain in Hudai Town. The original spirit way included ornamental columns, stone statues of officials, stone horses, stone pavilions, and a tomb stele. The warrior figures in front of the tomb wear warrior scarves, armor, and hold long swords. Each warrior figure stands two meters tall, is 0.7 meters wide, and weighs approximately 1.5 tons. They have square mouths, straight noses, delicate facial features, well-proportioned bodies, and strong lines. Their capes, armor, wrist guards, and heart-shaped armor mirrors are exquisitely carved and look incredibly lifelike.

The occupant of the tomb, Qin Jin, was a native of Hudai, Wuxi, a descendant of the famous Northern Song Dynasty poet Qin Guan, and the founding owner of Jichang Garden, a renowned classical garden in Wuxi. He served as Minister of five different ministries in both Nanjing and Beijing during the Ming Dynasty. He passed away in 1544 at his family home in his hometown at the age of 77.

On June 5, 2006, the Tomb of Qin Jin was designated as part of the sixth batch of protected cultural heritage sites of Jiangsu Province.

Hudai Town: A town under the jurisdiction of the suburban area of Wuxi. It serves as a grain and vegetable production base for the suburbs. Established as Hudai Town in 1927, it was reorganized as Hudai Township in 1950, then as Hudai Commune in 1958. In 1983, it reverted to being Hudai Township, and in 1989, it was re-established as Hudai Town. Located in the southwestern part of the city, it is 18 kilometers from the city center. Covering an area of 48 square kilometers with a population of 35,000, it lies close to National Highway 312, with the Xiyi Highway passing through the town. To the south, it borders Taihu Lake, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the area. The underground water quality is excellent, and the Taihu Eighteen Bends offer beautiful scenery.
