Listening to the Pines Stone Bed

The Listening to the Pines Stone Bed is a cultural relic protection unit of Wuxi City.

The Listening to the Pines Stone Bed is located in Xihui Park, Wuxi City. Also known as the Listening to the Pines Stone or the Reclining Person Stone, it lies horizontally within the Listening to the Pines Pavilion, situated northeast of the terrace of the former Huishan Temple main hall. The stone measures 1.99 meters in length, 0.87 meters in width, and 0.56 meters in height. It is natural, sturdy, brown in color, and flat, with one end slightly raised like a pillow, allowing people to lie or recline on it. Originally, there were two ancient pines from the Six Dynasties period planted beside the stone, and the late Tang Dynasty poet Pi Rixiu once wrote the line “The sound of pine seeds striking the stone bed.”
