Zhenjiang Bosean Park

Zhenjiang Bosean Park is nestled in the lush, picturesque YunTai Mountain. In 1926, to commemorate Zhao Bosean, a revolutionary martyr of the Xinhai Revolution, the citizens of Zhenjiang, at the initiative of prominent figure Leng Yuqiu, proposed establishing the mountain as Bosean Park. Under the meticulous design of horticulturalist Chen Yangcai and after five years of construction, the park was completed and opened to the public in June 1931. The park includes a bronze statue of Zhao Bosean holding binoculars and wearing a commanding sword on his waist; a small zoo that displays bears, deer, foxes, monkeys, as well as rare birds and animals such as peacocks and mandarin ducks; the "Shaozong Library," which houses nearly 80,000 ancient books; and the "May 30th Speech Hall," built in August 1925, a venue where people from all walks of life in Zhenjiang commemorated the May 30th Incident and carried out anti-imperialist and patriotic activities.
