The Shuyang Flower and Plant World is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The first phase of the Shuyang Flower and Plant World Trading Market had a total investment of 160 million yuan, covering an area of over 430 acres. The market building has a construction area of 140,000 square meters, including 80,000 square meters for business operations, 40,000 square meters for living quarters, and 20,000 square meters for business services. The market features more than 1,000 trading stalls and includes sections such as the potted plant area, seedling area, large tree area, retail area, living area, service area, and office area. Its comprehensive supporting facilities and top-notch services provide a quality business platform for merchants from across the country. The market is expected to achieve an annual transaction volume of 1.5 billion yuan, making it one of China's largest flower, plant, and potted plant trading markets. The development of the trading market will strongly boost the growth of Shuyang’s 300,000-acre flower and plant industry and that of surrounding areas, creating job opportunities for over 5,000 local surplus laborers, with an average income increase of over 5,000 yuan per person.

[Attraction Introduction]

1. Main Gate

The main gate of the Flower and Plant World stands 24 meters tall, with the seven Chinese characters “沭阳花木大世界” (Shuyang Flower and Plant World) at the top, each standing 4.18 meters tall and wide, giving it a majestic presence and earning it the title of “The No. 1 Gate of Shuyang.” The stone lions in front of the gate are exquisitely crafted and imposing, each standing 4.18 meters tall and weighing 10.8 tons, and are known as “The No. 1 Stone Lions in Northern Jiangsu.”

2. Bonsai Corridor

The Bonsai Corridor consists of 36 greenhouse sheds, primarily selling locally grown bonsai and various potted flowers from both northern and southern regions, with over 400 varieties and nearly 10,000 pots. Stepping into the greenhouse, you’ll find ancient and uniquely shaped tree stumps and a vibrant sea of blooming potted plants, as if entering a world of flowers and landscapes.

3. Landscape Garden

In the rockery garden, Taihu rocks display a variety of peculiar shapes, while Lingbi stones are delicate and translucent. The water garden features bridges over flowing streams and winding paths leading to serene spots, with stone carvings so exquisitely crafted they appear naturally formed.

4. Employment Base for People with Disabilities

The Employment Base for People with Disabilities is provided free of charge by Shuyang Flower and Plant World Co., Ltd. to the Shuyang County Disabled Persons’ Federation to help people with disabilities in the county start their own businesses and become self-reliant.

5. Rare Seedling Garden

The Rare Seedling Garden is the highest-latitude planting site in Jiangsu Province for rare and precious tree species from southern China. It houses dozens of towering century-old camphor trees, magnolia trees, and large groves of osmanthus trees with rarely seen thick trunks in the north. In the garden, the magnolia trees stand elegantly, and the osmanthus trees are fragrant all year round.

6. Central Garden

The central garden is illuminated all night by high mast lights to light up the market. Several ginkgo and osmanthus trees stand in the center, surrounded by shrubs and lawns. During spring and autumn, the green grass and blooming flowers create a pleasant resting place for visitors.

7. Root Carving Museum

“Jade cannot become art without carving, nor can roots become craft without sculpting.” Guilin’s landscape is the best under heaven, and Guilin’s root art is renowned throughout China. Root carving art, treasured for its natural beauty and exquisite craftsmanship, has a long history and is beloved by more and more people.

8. Smart Greenhouse

There are 22 greenhouses, each 105 meters long and 32 meters wide. The facility uses advanced Venlo-style roofing, electrically operated roof vents, movable cultivation beds, and automated irrigation and fertilization systems. It is currently one of the most advanced and fully featured smart greenhouses in China, mainly used for large-scale production of premium flowers and indoor flower trading.
