Martyr Wu Lingsheng’s Tomb

Martyr Wu Lingsheng’s Tomb is a cultural tourism attraction.

Wu Lingsheng, styled Songxian, also known as Wu Lishi, was from Yanjizhen in Shuyang County. Born in 1899, he studied at Peking Huiwen University in 1920 and participated in the May Fourth Movement. In February 1923, he joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League and soon after became a member of the Communist Party of China. He successively served as the Secretary of the Harbin Special Committee, Secretary of the CCP North Manchuria Regional Committee, Special Commissioner of the CCP for the Three Northeastern Provinces, Head of the Organization Department of the CCP Manchuria Provincial Committee, and Secretary of the CCP Shandong Provincial Committee. In 1930, he was arrested in Jinan due to betrayal by a traitor. On April 5, 1931, he was executed by the reactionary Kuomintang forces in Jinan. In 1962, the Shuyang County Committee relocated the martyr’s remains to the county martyrs’ cemetery and erected a monument in his memory.

Martyr Wu Lingsheng’s Tomb is circular, made of cement, with a square platform surrounded by a low wall. A stone stele stands in front of the tomb, measuring 4 meters in height and 1.3 meters in width. The front of the stele is inscribed with “Martyr Wu Lingsheng’s Tomb,” while the back bears an inscription.
