Chengzi Lake Tourist Resort (Provincial-level Tourist Resort)

Chengzi Lake Tourist Resort is situated in the southern part of Siyang County, on the northern shore of Hongze Lake — China’s fourth-largest freshwater lake. The first phase spans about 10.14 square kilometers. The resort boasts dense reeds, fragrant lotus fields, birdsongs all around, and pristine water quality, with an abundance of tasty fish, succulent crabs, and tender shrimp. Its expansive and well-planned ecological agriculture, along with the distinctive “one lake, six spits, seven bays” landscape, presents broad prospects for eco-leisure tourism. With the goal of building a national-level tourist resort, the development follows a “one island, one feature” approach, focusing on constructing three key zones: the comprehensive service area, the leisure and vacation zone, and the wetland sightseeing zone. In 2018, infrastructure projects were completed, including the terrain adjustment of Xinzhuang Island, the extension of Binhu Road to the Xingui section, the landscape enhancement of the Chengzi Lake Tourist Highway, and the water system regulation of Xingui Bay. Supporting service facilities such as the visitor center and ecological parking lot were also built. Projects including Panxi Waterscapes, Waterfront Farmland, and the Thousand-Mu Rose Demonstration Garden were completed and opened to the public. Efforts have also been made to advance the development of fine dining and accommodation options such as boutique hotels and characteristic homestays.
