Introduction In November 1, 1945, the Government of the Soviet and Anhui Border Region was established in Huai'an. It was a people's democratic coalition government under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, uniting the four liberated areas of Central Jiangsu, Northern Jiangsu, Southern Anhui, and Northern Anhui. The site of the border region government currently consists of two courtyards, covering an area of 6,100 square meters. It preserves 48 simple yet classic brick-and-wood structure houses (some of which are two-story buildings), with a total construction area of 1,300 square meters. The 26 two-story buildings in the northern courtyard were originally the office of the border region government’s Protocol Department. They are now used for the exhibition of historical materials of the border region government and the life of Li Yimang, displaying over 280 historical photos, 140 cultural relics and document materials, fully recreating the historical features and great achievements of the border region government at that time, as well as the glorious and heroic life of Li Yimang, the chairman of the border region government. There is also a bronze statue of Li Yimang, the site where his ashes were scattered, and a hexagonal pavilion personally designed by him for visitors to pay tribute. The southern courtyard consists of four single-story buildings with a total of 22 rooms, serving as the offices of the border region government chairman, vice-chairmen, secretary-general, and meeting rooms.
