Hubei is a place never lacking in famous mountains and beautiful waters. When you think of Hubei, the Three Gorges, Red Cliffs, and Wudang Mountain always come to mind, but in fact, it hides many interesting attractions waiting for you to discover.

Most of them are located deep in the mountains, preserving the most pristine "wild" charm. They are breathtakingly beautiful yet rarely known.

However, some of the places below might be too daring even if you have money—going to three of them makes you awesome!
1. Luotian · Glass Walkway
"Having traversed Huang, E, Dai, and Lu, only the water of Paradise is the best." Deep in the Dabie Mountains lies a paradise. Before your eyes is mountain mist, and beneath your feet is a bottomless abyss.

Here there is a fully transparent glass walkway, suspended high above with cliffs on either side—a thread in the sky, as if hiking midair, walking among white clouds, plucking a cloud at will.

The glass walkway at Luotian Tianzhuangzhai Scenic Area is the fourth domestic one following those at Tianmen Mountain, Baishi Mountain, and Pinggu Tianyun Mountain, and also the first in Hubei Province.

Walking the walkway feels like hiking midair. The walkway is 1.8 meters wide, 70 meters long, with a surface made of three-layer tempered laminated bulletproof glass, capable of bearing 600 kilograms per square meter.

There is also a 145-meter-high vertical sightseeing elevator here, connected to the glass walkway, soaring straight into the clouds, majestic in scale.

With the help of the elevator and walkway, visitors can "enter the core scenic area in one minute." Riding the sightseeing elevator costs 60 yuan, and walking the glass walkway requires an additional 10 yuan.

2. Enshi · Cliffside Highway
In the towering mountains of Enshi, Hubei, a road winds through the hills.

From a distance, it looks like a jade belt coiled around a vertical cliff face, appearing to float in midair, hence called the "Cliffside Highway"—extremely stunning!

The road is made up of seven Z-shaped switchbacks blasted manually out of the cliffs and another 13 hairpin turns, seemingly "descending from the heavens."

Location: Chegenpo Cliff, Xintang Township, Enshi City
3. Yichang · Three Gorges Bungee Jumping
Bungee jumping here not only lets you test whether you have the courage to take a leap, but also gives you a taste of the tragedy of "plunging into the river"!

It features the highest bungee platform in any canyon across the country so far. Once you jump, the feeling of weightlessness and soaring at great height will excite you.

4. Danjiangkou · Taiji Gorge Glass Bridge
The glass suspension bridge of Taiji Gorge is expected to open for visits by mid-June. It stands like a strategic military stronghold where one man can hold off ten thousand.
It's just like an impregnable stronghold.

This glass suspension bridge is approximately 150 meters long in total, spanning across Qinglong Mountain and Denglong Mountain. From above, you can view the Tianchi Lake, and below, you can gaze into the canyon. Walking on it feels as if you're gliding on the wind.

Beneath your feet lies the Taiji Canyon, known for its “sheer cliffs rising high and grotesque rocks jutting out” — a breathtaking, spectacular, and somewhat daunting sight.

5. Enshi · Shiziguan Water Boardwalk
The floating water boardwalk, about 500 meters long, allows you to stroll amid green mountains and clear waters, gently swaying with a sense of leisurely delight.

Built along the winding river, it lets visitors walk amidst verdant hills and waters, immersing themselves in the natural charm of the Tujia and Miao mountain villages.

Walking here feels like gliding lightly across the water between mountains and rivers — you can almost reach out and feel nature’s raw warmth, hear its sounds, and see its colors.

6. Shennongjia · Feiyundu
Shennongjia isn’t just captivating for its legends of the wild man; there’s also the “Bridge in the Clouds” atop Yanziya Cliff — Feiyundu.

7. Siduhe Bridge
The world’s highest bridge, and the most thrilling bridge globally — ever heard of it? It’s the Siduhe Bridge.

The Siduhe Bridge has been ranked among the world’s top ten most thrilling bridges by foreign websites.

Just looking at the photos makes your legs go weak — not only is it thrilling, but it also has an ethereal beauty. That’s probably the advantage of being built so high.

8. Qingjiang Fangshan · Cliffside Plank Walk
Suspended over sheer cliffs, walking on clouds, strolling through peak forests — it’s like being in a fairyland.

With cliffs above and bottomless abysses below, the builders of the Qingjiang Fangshan Cliffside Plank Walk call it the “Sky Road of Fangshan.”

The completion of the cliffside plank walk connects the scenic wonders of Qingjiang Fangshan — peculiar peaks, waterfalls, mountain springs, strange rocks, caves, canyons, salt routes, Taoist temples, pavilions, and more — into one continuous line.

Walking on the cliffside plank walk feels like visiting a celestial mountain like Penglai.

9. Luotian · Jinshi River Rafting
The Jinshi River rafting course in Luotian stretches 6 kilometers in length, with a total drop of 187 meters, including a maximum drop of 17 meters, the longest slide nearly 100 meters, and a total of 42 major drops and 35 rapids along the way.

The Luotian Jinshi River rafting course is the only forest rafting route of its kind in Hubei Province. The riverbanks are covered in dense vegetation, with ancient trees towering overhead and vines twisting through the undergrowth.

Location: Luotian County, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, China
