The Journey to the West Cultural Experience Park · Dragon Palace White Whale World is one of the key tourism projects developed by the provincial and municipal governments. It consists of three parts: Happy World, Polar Ocean World, and Water Park, and was fully completed and opened to the public on June 28, 2017. As one of the representative projects of Huai’an’s cultural innovation and tourism upgrade, the project has achieved several “firsts” and “onlys,” including being the first “Dragon Palace White Whale” cultural-themed IP in China, the first fifth-generation indoor water park, and the first water park featuring ocean technology interactions. It fills the gap of a large-scale marine-themed park in northern Jiangsu. To date, it has welcomed nearly one million visitors and has been honored as one of Jiangsu’s Top Ten New Tourist Attractions, an Outstanding Project for Tourism Innovation and Development in Jiangsu, a Candidate for China’s Best Theme Park of the Year, and a Jiangsu Provincial Science Education Base, among other accolades.
