Qianwei Ecological Village in Chongming is located in the central-northern part of Chongming Island, covering an area of 2.5 square kilometers with a population of 753. Established in 1969 by reclaiming land from tidal flats, after more than 30 years of hard work, it has developed from a once desolate and quiet border village into an ecological community that boasts both modern rural features and pastoral charm, where humans and nature coexist in harmony. It is now a relatively economically developed ecological village. Since the 1980s, Qianwei Village has been exploring the path of ecological agriculture development. Especially since the reform and opening up, it has unswervingly pursued the path of “ecology, environmental protection, and sustainable development.” The village has achieved remarkable results in ecological economy, environmental protection, spiritual civilization, and community construction, earning high praise from central and municipal leaders. It has become a flagship example of circular ecological agriculture in Shanghai.

Transportation

Located in the central-northern part of Chongming Island, it can be reached by self-driving or by boat.

1. By car: Shanghai Pudong – Shanghai Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge – Chenhai Highway – Panlong Highway – Beiyan Highway – Linfeng Highway – Qianwei Ecological Village

2. By ferry: Take a ferry from Baoyang Road or Shidongkou to Namen Port, then take the Nandong Line to the final stop

Admission

The admission fee for Qianwei Ecological Village is 60 RMB, for Sanmin Cultural Village it is 48 RMB, and a combined ticket for Qianwei and Sanmin is 90 RMB (includes six attractions: Wildlife Zoo Domestication Base, Village History Museum, World Petrified Stone Museum, Eco-Leisure Square, Eco-Circular Demonstration Area, etc.)
