The Site of the Dashaoshā Massacre in Shuxin Town is located in Team 10, Yuejin Village, Shuxin Town, Chongming County. In late July 1940, Japanese troops implemented the "Three Alls Policy" of "burn all, kill all, loot all" on Chongming Island. On July 30, Japanese forces surrounded Shuxin Town, resulting in over 120 people being - , more than 40 injured, over a hundred shops and stalls destroyed, and more than 1,400 residential houses burned down, reducing a century-old town to ruins. On August 15, 1995, the Chongming County People's Government erected the "Memorial Monument for the Victims of the Japanese Army's Dashaoshā Massacre in Shuxin Town" at the former site of Chenghuang Temple in Team 10, Yuejin Village (now Yuejin Village), Shuxin Town. The monument faces south and stands 1.9 meters high, 1.85 meters wide, and 0.7 meters thick, covering an area of 36 square meters. The Site of the Dashaoshā Massacre in Shuxin Town is open to the public free of charge year-round and serves as an important patriotic education base for young people. Through visits, it helps young people remember the national humiliation of Japanese imperialist aggression against their hometown and the bloody lesson that "backwardness invites aggression," thereby inspiring their patriotism.
