The Chongming Archives serves as a patriotic education base.

The Chongming Archives was established in December 1998 and is located within the government compound. The site covers a total area of over 100 square meters and consists of two exhibition halls. Exhibition Hall 1 features four major themes: "Historical Changes," "Leaders' Care," "Eco-Island Construction," and "Chongming's 11th Five-Year Plan." The theme "Historical Changes" is divided into three chapters: "Island History," "Anti-Japanese War," and "Old vs. New Appearances." "Leaders' Care" displays 28 precious photos of visits by key leaders from the Party, state, municipal Party committee, and municipal government from the 1980s to the early 21st century. "Eco-Island Construction" mainly records the fruitful achievements of Chongming’s ecological development. "Chongming's 11th Five-Year Plan" showcases the grand blueprint of the island’s overall planning. Exhibition Hall 2 uses charts, photos, and a wealth of research materials to present the developmental trajectory of Chongming’s economy and various social programs, and also displays physical memorabilia of honors Chongming has received over the years.

Chengqiao Town: [Overview] Chengqiao Town is located on the southern edge of central Chongming Island, bordering the southern channel of the Yangtze River to the south, facing Xinhe Town to the east, adjacent to Miaozhen Town to the west, and bordering Jianshe Town and Gangxi Town to the north.
