Old Shanghai Shikumen alleyways
The Jianxin Film and Television Base, covering a total area of 1,200 acres and featuring landscapes characteristic of modern Shanghai and the Jiangnan region during the Ming and Qing dynasties, also captures the attention of general visitors. Here you’ll find a 1930s-style Nanjing Road, cobblestone streets, Shikumen alleyways, the Suzhou River, Zhejiang Road Bridge, medieval chateaus, a Catholic church, and a variety of uniquely styled European architecture. Trams also "clatter" along the tracks... All these familiar elements of Shanghai make us feel as though we’ve been transported back to the misty lights along the Huangpu River.
