Pujianyuan Triangle Ferry Dike

The source of the Huangpu River lies in Lin’an, Zhejiang, while its main course is formed in Songjiang. Two of its three major tributaries—the Dazhengtang–Yuanshexi and the Mao River–Xietang—converge with the Huangpu River at Litahui Town, creating a main channel section over 300 meters wide. This confluence is known as “Triangle Ferry,” marking the starting point of the Huangpu River’s main course, often referred to as the “source of the Pujiang.” This dike section is 1.4 kilometers long and is built to withstand a once-in-a-century flood.

The “Li Tower” (a navigational lighthouse), built during the Tang Dynasty, still stands in Litahui Town and serves as a landmark ancient structure in the “Triangle Ferry” area. In addition, the “Triangle Ferry Pavilion” has been constructed on the Triangle Ferry island as a symbolic building.

Here, there is a green conservation forest belt stretching along the riverbank, coupled with a rural landscape rich in local flavor, comprehensively and vividly showcasing the characteristics of Songjiang’s water culture and highlighting the history of Songjiang’s ancient culture. It provides visitors with a place for waterside leisure and a new perspective to admire the scenic beauty of both banks of the Huangpu River.
