Qi-Qihaer Peace Square was built on August 15, 2005, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Covering a planned area of 41,400 square meters, the square is located by the Nenjiang River. The main components of the square include the War of Resistance Memorial Wall, the Victory Monument, and the Jiangqiao Resistance Memorial Sculpture.

The paving of the square is mainly stone, combined with large areas of pebble ground to create a solemn and weighty atmosphere. In summer, water can be filled in the pebble pool to form a pond named "Water of Peace," the shape of which is an abstraction of the map of China occupied by Japanese invaders.

The more than 20 million pebbles in the pool symbolize the more than 20 million Chinese who suffered during the War of Resistance. In the center, a large stone is engraved with the atrocious historical events created by Japanese invaders in China.

The Victory Monument in Peace Square stands 37 meters high, symbolizing the full outbreak of the Chinese War of Resistance in 1937. Its overall design embodies the concept of "beating swords into ploughshares," signifying that peace and development are the irreversible historical trends of the world today. The monument consists of two towers of different heights stacked together, symbolizing the confrontation between justice and -_.

The taller tower represents the ultimate victory of the just Chinese People’s War of Resistance, while the shorter, slanted and zigzag tower symbolizes the shameful defeat of the Japanese invaders.
