On November 4, 2013, VAUDE officially released the recruitment information for the second stop of “Bike-to-Climb” — “Meet at Haba Snow Mountain in Its Most Beautiful Season.” Over the course of one month until December 5, 30 outdoor enthusiasts were successfully recruited. They will set off on December 20, 2013, for a wonderful trip that includes cycling through Lijiang, meeting Tiger Leaping Gorge, staying in Haba Village, and ultimately climbing Haba Snow Mountain under the guidance of VAUDE’s professional outdoor coaching team.
In 2009, Italian mountaineers Diego Giovannini and Franco 'Franz' Nicolini climbed all 82 peaks over 4,000 meters in the Alps without using any mechanical aid, and they traveled between each peak by bicycle, becoming the first pair of mountaineers to achieve this feat. Inspired by this, VAUDE launched the “Bike-to-Climb” series of environmentally friendly activities, hoping to spark public reflection on outdoor environmental protection through this eco-conscious climbing approach.
It is reported that the “Bike-to-Climb” environmental protection series consists of three stops: Qiyi Glacier, Haba Snow Mountain, and the Alps. In June 2013, the first stop — “Cycling Across Qiyi Glacier” — was successfully concluded, with every participant sharing their unique experiences from the journey.
