Qiqihar Museum

Qiqihar Museum officially opened to the public on August 26, 2003. The overall architectural style is antique-inspired, with a construction area of 11,000 square meters and a collection of over 5,000 cultural relics. It is one of the largest comprehensive municipal museums in the province.

Architectural Layout

Qiqihar Museum is located at No. 1 Zhonghua West Road, Buque Street, Jianhua District, Qiqihar City, with a construction area of 11,000 square meters, making it one of the largest municipal museums in the province. It officially opened to the public on August 26, 2003.

The overall architectural style of Qiqihar Museum is antique-inspired. The giant relief “Nenjiang – The Mother River” in the first-floor lobby centrally reflects the ancient civilization of the Nenjiang River basin, where multi-ethnic groups lived together, represented by the fish and hunting culture of Qiqihar.

International Museum Day

May 18 is “International Museum Day.” On the morning of the 18th, Qiqihar Museum launched a series of activities, including exhibitions and cultural relic appraisals, to engage citizens in this special day.

During the event, the museum specially presented the second season of its science popularization exhibition series — the “Grand View of Traditional Chinese Culture” thematic exhibition. The exhibition used rich images and detailed texts to depict traditional Chinese culture, including Confucianism, Taoism, Chinese Buddhism, poetry and songs, essays and odes, chapter-based novels, calligraphy and seal carving, Chinese painting, sculpture, traditional music, ancient dance, traditional opera, ancient books and scriptures, Chinese characters, and the Chinese language. It aimed to promote the long-standing traditions of Chinese culture. With the further development of China’s contemporary reform and opening-up, traditional Chinese culture will surely step into the future global cultural system with a new posture. Additionally, exhibition panels were created to introduce the “Preview of the Exhibition Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan,” showcasing preview content.
