The Duerbote Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Duerbote Museum was first established in 1985, with the new building completed in 2006. It covers an area of 2,000 square meters. The museum has four exhibition halls, featuring highly technological display methods. The entire exhibition utilizes high-tech audio, visual, and lighting effects, as well as a combination of text and images, motion and stills, to provide a detailed showcase of Duerbote’s long history, unique folk customs, abundant resources, and remarkable achievements.

Over the past 20 years since its establishment, the museum has hosted visits from national, provincial, and municipal leaders, foreign dignitaries, and domestic economic, trade, and tourism groups, receiving over 50,000 visitors annually.

The county museum officially opened on September 1, 2006. Chang Shulin, Deputy Director of the Municipal People's Congress, and Xue Zhiwei, Secretary of the County Party Committee, along with other city and county leaders, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The original county museum, serving as an important tourism window and cultural platform, had outdated exhibitions, insufficient display space, and failed to adequately reflect the folk culture characteristics of the Mongolian people. To address this, the county Party committee and government prioritized the museum’s renovation and expansion as a key project for the county’s anniversary. They actively invested funds and also received strong support from the Suifenhe Municipal Party Committee, Suifenhe Municipal Government, and Shenyang Railway Bureau. Through the joint efforts of all parties, a museum with a simple and substantial overall design and prominent regional features was built. The newly completed county museum spans a total area of 2,000 square meters and includes four exhibition halls: History, Folk Culture, Resources, and Achievements. The exhibitions employ high-tech audio, visual, and lighting techniques, utilizing a combination of text and images, motion and stills, three-dimensional displays, and physical exhibits to vividly recreate the dramatic changes in Duerbote. In addition, to enrich the museum’s collection, Mongolian yurts, wooden carts (leleche), water bags, and other Mongolian daily-life items were collected from Mongolia and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Locally, items such as carved saddles used by Mongolian princes, folk musical instruments, and baby cradles were also gathered. There are also physical objects and photographs that bear witness to the tremendous changes that have taken place in the county over the past fifty years.
