The organizers of the Explore Qaidam project officially announced in December 2014 that Zeng Chen, moderator of the Southwest China forum on the Green Field Outdoor Network, would serve as the deputy team leader of this event.
Zeng Chen, male, born on October 3, 1991, in Wulong County, Chongqing, is currently a moderator of the Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai, Chongqing, and Tibet forums on the Green Field Outdoor Network, and is an expert in wilderness survival and extreme sports. He is dedicated to promoting the discovery and popularization of tourism and outdoor resources in western China, and in 2014 proposed the development of a full industrial chain for "travel and outdoor-themed" activities in the west.
“The "Explore Qaidam" themed activity is a long-term, serial exploration initiative planned by the government of Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province. Based in Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the project focuses on the lesser-known natural resources, mountain outdoor sports resources, tourism development resources, and event resources around the Qaidam region on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It involves route exploration, reconnaissance, experience, and documentation. During the exploration, team members will use photos, videos, text, and other media to record real-time data on the geographical location, landform features, climate characteristics, cultural aspects, and the status of flora and fauna along the routes, achieving comprehensive and scientific understanding of the paths. After the explorations, the collected information will be compiled to establish a relatively complete natural resource database, providing authentic and comprehensive data and support for future outdoor activities, tourism resource development, and scientifically sustainable operations.
