Ruins of the Ancient City of Hejiachengzi

The ruins of the ancient city of Hejiachengzi are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The ruins of the ancient city of Hejiachengzi, located in Lanxi County, Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, are the remnants of an ancient city from the Jin Dynasty. The site is roughly square-shaped, oriented 25 degrees southeast. The eastern wall is 1,013 meters long, the southern wall is 936 meters, the northern wall is 947 meters, with a total perimeter of 3,910 meters. The surviving walls reach a maximum height of about 3 meters. The walls were built using rammed earth and board construction techniques, with each layer approximately 8 centimeters thick. The site features 55 bastions, and there is a gate tower in the middle of both the southern and northern walls. Artifacts unearthed at the site include arrowheads, iron locks, ancient coins, and pottery jars. In May 2013, it was designated and announced by the State Council as part of the seventh group of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
