Da Pingtai Volcanic Rock Geopark

The Da Pingtai Volcanic Rock Geopark in Hongxing District (Bureau) has planned eight major scenic areas, namely: the Water & Ice Sightseeing Scenic Area, the Stone Sea Adventure Scenic Area, the Forest Culture Park Scenic Area, the Volcano Crater Sightseeing Scenic Area, the Erpi River Rafting Scenic Area, the Banlashan Scenic Area, the Underground Palace Exploration Scenic Area, and the Agricultural Sightseeing Scenic Area. The thematic highlights of each scenic area in the park are:

Water & Ice Sightseeing Scenic Area: featuring expansive, crystal-clear waters with picturesque landscapes of mountains and lakes. In summer, you can take boat tours to enjoy the scenery, while in winter, you can witness the stunning Kuerbin rime ice.

Stone Sea Adventure Scenic Area: due to the well-developed stone sea and pristine landscape, visitors can experience the thrill, grandeur, and natural power and magic of the stone sea. Additionally, every spring, you can admire the vast rhododendron seas stretching for dozens of kilometers.

Underground Palace Exploration Scenic Area: when visiting this cave, you will see walls covered with lava stalactites that, under the illumination of lights, form layered glass-like walls, satisfying your sense of curiosity.

Volcano Crater Sightseeing Scenic Area: primarily showcasing the landform created by a volcanic eruption 2.43 million years ago, including a 650-meter-high volcano cone, a crater over 100 meters in diameter, endless lava plateaus, and various micro-landforms.

Banlashan Scenic Area: enjoy the magnificent views of steep cliffs, dense forests on slopes, and rushing rivers. Especially in autumn, the colorful forest landscape is truly one of the most spectacular sights of northern China.

Erpi River Rafting Scenic Area: the riverbed twists and turns, with water flow varying between fast and slow, surrounded by steep cliffs and dense forests. Rafting here offers both thrilling excitement and a sense of harmony between humans and nature.

Forest Culture Park Scenic Area: this area features simple, traditional folk customs where you can experience local traditions, dietary culture, and other aspects of regional life.

Agricultural Sightseeing Scenic Area: here you can view the vast seas of wheat in spring, the lush green fields of soybeans and corn in summer, and the golden harvest scenery in autumn.
