Hongxing Volcanic Geological Park

Hongxing Volcanic Geological Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Hongxing Volcanic Geological Park, also referred to as the Hongxing Volcanic Rock Geological Park or Hongxing Geological Park, is situated in the Dapingtai Forest Area of the Hongxing Forestry Bureau in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. It lies 160 kilometers from downtown Yichun and covers an area of 20,188 hectares. It is a newly discovered volcanic geological wonder following the Wudalianchi area. The vast expanses of volcanic lava, rock seas, and the surrounding diverse ecological zones provide an ideal habitat for flora and fauna. Forty-seven species of animals under national first and second-class protection—including red-crowned cranes and moose—along with 511 plant species, have earned it the reputation of being the "Heilongjiang Flora and Fauna Resource Reserve."

The park boasts three unique landscapes: volcanic landforms, azalea seas, and Khewra-like rime.

Volcanic Landforms. These were formed by multiple episodes of volcanic activity and basalt eruptions dating back to the Late Carboniferous, Early Permian, and Late Permian periods.

The volcanic rocks are of great antiquity, with their surfaces covered in rich moss and ancient plants thriving abundantly. The scenery features stones among forests, forests atop stones, flowers nestled within stones, and stones rising through blossoms—creating a majestic and breathtaking view that is a rare geological marvel in China.
