Nine-Kilometer Ancient City Site

The Nine-Kilometer Ancient City Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Heilongjiang Province.

The Nine-Kilometer Ancient City Site is located on the hilltop of the left bank of the Hailang River, one kilometer west of Jiukm Railway Station in Hailin Town. Dating back to the Tang Bohai–Liao and Jin dynasties, it is classified as an ancient ruins site.

On January 31, 2005, the Nine-Kilometer Ancient City Site was designated as part of the fifth batch of cultural heritage protection units in Heilongjiang Province.

Hailin Town: Located in the central area of Hailin City, Hailin Town borders Ning’an City to the south and neighbors Hainan Township and Changting Town to the east and west. It is the seat of the Hailin Municipal Party Committee and Government, serving as the city’s political, economic, and cultural center. The town covers an area of 666.2 square kilometers, accounting for 7.5% of the city’s total; it has a total population of 133,000, including 44,000 agricultural residents, both representing 30% of the city’s total administrative villages. The town has 217,000 mu of cultivated land, making up 27% of the city’s total, and comprises 32 administrative villages, which is 15% of the total number of villages in the city.
