Datian Watermelon
The Lincao Hui Ethnic Township of Yanshan District is located on the eastern bank of the Li River in Guilin City, Guangxi. It borders the Daxu Town of Lingchuan District to the northeast and adjoins Yangshuo County to the south. The featured local product from Team 8, 9, and 10, as well as the Village Committee of Datian, Lincao Hui Ethnic Township, Yanshan District, Guilin City, is the Datian Watermelon: known for its thin rind, juicy flesh, and a taste that is sandy, sweet, and crisp—its flavor is in no way inferior to that of "Kyoho melons." The Lincao Hui Ethnic Township, where Datian is located, boasts two national AAAA-level scenic spots within its jurisdiction: Guanyan Cave and Shenlong Water World. Additionally, the township is a key stop along the Guilin–Yangshuo Li River cruise route, enjoying a constant flow of visitors throughout the year with high tourist traffic. The months from June to September—when the watermelons are ripe—coincide with the peak tourist season. Establishing a "Datian Watermelon" brand, expanding production, and increasing promotional efforts to position "Datian Watermelon" as a must-buy travel souvenir or premium gift item could generate substantial economic benefits. It could even help boost the local tourism industry.
