The hollyhock sea is a key highlight for flower enthusiasts from March to April each year. In addition to Xuejia in Tainan, which is famed for its hollyhock blooms, there’s also a spectacular display in Yuanlin City, Changhua. With over 20,000 hollyhock plants, the blooming season kicks off in late March, making it one of the most popular photo spots in Yuanlin.

This large hollyhock field in Daming Village was planted by the Yuanlin City Government. Spanning approximately 1,500 square meters, it may not be huge in size, but the hollyhocks reaching up to 3 meters in height come in a rich variety of more than 20 colors—including purple, light red, pink, deep red, white, and yellow—that captivate many flower-loving visitors.

Originally planned to kick off with an opening ceremony, concerns over the tense pandemic situation led to its cancellation in line with recommendations from the Central Epidemic Command Center. However, the hollyhock fields will still open as scheduled through the end of April. Aside from routine maintenance closures on April 6 and 20, visitors are welcome to freely enter and take photos.
